London Stationery Show 2018

London Stationery Show 2018

Wow, what a show! Three floors of stationery heaven and only two days to see it all. Tempting as it was to run around like a six year old in a toy shop, I think (hope), I managed to maintain a more dignified appearance!

This was our third visit to the London Stationery Show and it was better than ever. As well as an opportunity to find new products to put into our subscription boxes, it’s a chance to catch up with friends and suppliers and make new contacts.

One of my favourite aspects of the show is the Launchpad contest, where new companies can showcase their products, meet potential customers and tell the story of their brand. This year it was lovely to meet the people from Back Pocket Notebooks, Batch.Works, Atelier Bobbie, and Fa Vo, among others. We hope the experience proves to be rewarding for them.

It was also good to catch up with friends from previous years and great to hear how their businesses have developed, or see the gorgeous new products they’re bringing to the market. We met Maythe of My Pretty Circus last year when she took part in Launchpad so it was good to see her again. Also it’s always good to finally be able to put a face to a voice, like Louise from Poach My Lobster and (another!) Louise from Silvine Originals.

We came away with lots of goodie bags (thank you!), four very sore feet and, most importantly, lots of ideas for new subscription box themes and contents. What will those themes be? Ah well, you’ll just have to wait and see!

  1. Oh this looks like heaven! I wouldn’t want to leave at all. Hope to visit one year, if this is an annual festival. Do you know of such gatherings in other countries?

    1. Hi Amrita,
It’s towards the end of April every year and is an absolute joy to visit! Similar events in the UK are Top Drawer and Pulse, which you can find on Google.
Elsewhere are the New York Stationery Show, Paperworld in Frankfurt, Germany and many others. I’m planning to visit them all!
