Our May 2019 stationery collection was inspired by Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972), a Dutch graphic artist who made mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. A lot of his work, but by no means all of it, was in black and white and he is famous for his optical illusion designs.
We reproduced one of his artworks on a greetings card and another on a bookmark but the star of this particular collection is one of the range of “Heritage” notebooks by French brand Rhodia, specifically the one with a cover design called “Escher”…
We also included a Clairefontaine pocket notebook with a diamond repeat pattern on the cover.
To continue the black and white theme we added a Blackwing graphite pencil and black Stabilo Worker and a Marvy For Drawing pens.
As always, the collection included a set of four exclusive illustrated postcards by some very talented young illustrators.
